Jasper, IN – The Being for Others Health and Wellness Foundation (BFO) welcomed community members from across its eight-county region today for a special open house at its headquarters. The event provided an opportunity for guests to learn more about the Foundation’s mission, grantmaking process, and vision for improving health and wellness in Southern Indiana.

Attendees heard from Tonya Heim, BFO Board Chair, who shared the history and purpose behind the Foundation. Christian Blome, BFO President, introduced the organization’s grant process, outlining how nonprofit organizations can apply for funding to support impactful health and wellness initiatives.

“This event was a wonderful way to bring our community together, share our mission, and celebrate the opportunities ahead,” said Blome. “We’re grateful for the incredible support and look forward to investing in initiatives that will enhance the well-being of those in our region.”

BFO Grant Process and Timeline

BFO’s grant process is designed to support local organizations working to improve health and wellness across Dubois, Martin, Daviess, Orange, Pike, Crawford, Spencer, and Perry counties. The upcoming grant cycle is now open, with applications due by 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2025. A Celebration of Community and Connection

The Open House also served as a chance for community members to network, tour the BFO office, and meet the team, including Mary Champion, BFO’s newly hired Director of Operations. Guests also enjoyed an amazing grazing table provided by Café Piña.
